Obituary of Mae Elizabeth Hardy

Mae Elizabeth Hardy, 79, was born April 21, 1944 in Danville, VA. She passed away peacefully on August 19, 2023 at Beacon Place in Greensboro, NC.

Mae graduated from Bronsville High School in Danville, VA. She worked more than 20 years with In-Home Housekeeping. In 1991, she attended Thomas Healthcare to attain her CNA license for In-Home Care Nursing. Mae retired in 2011. She has been a member at Ebenezer Baptist Church since May 2010.

Mae is preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Hardy and Ada C. Hardy. Her 7 brothers: Lawrence, James, Thomas, George, Billy, Wayne, and Hassell. Her 3 sisters: Dorothy, Francis, and Virginia. Her son James V. Oxendine and Grandson James Jr.

Mae is survived by her son John D. Oxendine and Tonya May and 5 of her grandchildren: Lamar, Tiffany, Marshal, Jacob, and Lily and her husband Ryan Oliver. Additionally, she has 7 great-grandchildren: Greyson, Gabriel, Hailey, Aniya, Chayden, Coleson, Bentley, Bahni, and 1 great-great grandchild Oaklynn. Long-tine friend/sister Elisabeth Winston.

Mae leaves behind a host of friends, loved ones, and special prayer partners.
