Obituary of James Arthur Jarvis
James Jarvis, 85, of Greensboro went to his Heavenly home on February 8, 2024 at his residence with his son by his side. A native of Guilford County, he was the son of the late Mayford and Pauline (Carter) Jarvis.
James was a 1956 graduate of Rankin High School. He was employed by Southern Plastics and AMP, Inc (Tyco). James was a lifelong member of Lebanon Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his shop, gardening and talking politics. He was the best PawPaw to his grandchildren and loved to make them laugh.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Pat, and son, Jeff.
Left to cherish his memories are his son and wife, Scott and Shannon of Browns Summit; granddaughters, Haley (Kelsie) Strickland of Kernersville and Jordan (Dalton) Jarvis of Greensboro; grandson, Justin Jarvis of Reidsville; one brother, Robert (Janice) Jarvis of Siler City; nephew, Brian (Sarah) Jarvis; nieces, Cindie (David) Sillmon and Wendy (Derek) Bailey; eight great-nephews; one great-niece; and his loving canine companion, Lucy.
The family will receive friends at Lebanon Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 1:00PM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Lebanon Baptist Church with Derek Bailey officiating. Interment will be at Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
