Obituary of Jessie Vira Elder
Jessie Vira “Vickie” Elder, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 16th, 2024.
Vickie was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on October 24, 1928 to the late Joseph Alvin and Rebecca Williams Elder. Prior to retiring from Guilford County Veterans Services, her passion was helping veterans and their families. She was always proud of her four brothers’ military service and this was her way of honoring them.
In addition to her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Elder Koury and Charline Elder; and brothers, Joseph Bobby Elder and Harold Eugene Elder.
Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Marcelle Elder Koury of Santa Ana, CA, Margie Elder and Ann Elder (Don) Hepler of Greensboro; brothers, J.W.(Opal) Elder of Greensboro and Wayne Elder of Vero Beach, FL; along numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A special “thank you” to Verra Springs, Camden Health and Rehabilitation and Hospice for their care and support.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of the Piedmont.
