Obituary of Herman Hawley

Mr. Herman Dewey Hawley, Jr. , 89 , passed away Thursday October 29, 2009 at his home. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday October 31, 2009 at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Marion Boling officiating. Mr. Hawley was born July 24, 1920 in Roanoke, Va. to Herman and Ceceilia Clinebell Hawley. Herman served his country proudly in the Army Air Force during WWII, where he was awarded the "Croix de Guerre avec Talme" award with the Headquarters 42nd Bombardment Wing. Mr. Hawley was a graduate and Ole Guard Cadet of Virginia Tech , he retired after 45 years of service from Liberty Mutual, was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church and an avid golfer. A loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be dearly missed. He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy W. Hawley . Survivors include his sons; Richard Hawley and wife Bunny , Lee Hawley and wife Janice; grandchildren Deaton Hawley, Charles Lee Hawley II, Kristin Seale and husband Johnny, William Dewey Hawley; great grandchildren; John Francis Seale IV and William Harrison Seale.
