Obituary of Roy Atkins

Gibsonville, NC Mr. Roy Lee Atkins, 69, of Gibsonville went to be with the Lord, his Mother, Father, Brother & Step Son on Thursday August 13, 2009 at his residence. Roy was born in Surry County on December 8, 1939 the son of Louis and Elizabeth Mooney Atkins. He was of Baptist faith and worked as a mechanic in the manufacturing industry. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a step-son Eddie Staley and a brother Jessie Atkins. Surviving are his wife of the home, Linda King Atkins; a son Bobby Atkins of Brown Summit; a step son John Staley of the home; a step-daughter Lisa Davenport of Gibsonville; a sister Jean Carol Culler of Pilot, Mt.; six grandchildren, Tommy, Angela, Chrismon, Destiny, Lauren and Brandi; three great grandchildren Naomi, Jaida and Lilah Graveside services will be held at 2 pm on Sunday at Lakeview Memorial Park.
