Obituary of Ervin Chambers

Mr. Ervin H. Chambers, 76, of Summerfield, died at Moses Cone Hospital, Thursday, August 5, 2009, of injuries received in an auto accident. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Monday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Chapel, with the Reverend Jan Brittian officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park. Mr. Chambers was born October 13, 1932, in Greensboro, NC to Walter and Bessie Hunter Chambers. He graduated from Bessemer High School and attended Guilford College. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from WFMY Channel 2, after 37 years of service. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. Mr. Chambers is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dolores Davidson Chambers; daughters, Karen Ross and husband Stephen, of Greensboro, and Diane Chambers, of the home; mother-in-law, Vivienne Davidson; a brother, Robert Chambers and wife Lib, of McLeansville; nephews, Steven and Rife Chambers; his special kitties, Turbi and Smokey and several good friends The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 Sunday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service, and at other times at the family home.
