Obituary of Edward Murray

Greensboro Edward 'Eddie' Knight Murray Jr Edward 'Eddie' Knight Murray Jr., 61, died on January 14, 2012. Eddie was born in Greensboro to Edward Knight and Eva Irene Stanfield Murray. He was lovingly known as 'Big Daddy' to his family. There will be a Graveside Service for Mr. Murray on Wednesday January 18 at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery, with the Rev. George M. Coates of Newlyn Street United Methodist Church officiating. Eddie graduated in 1971 from Page High School. He was a former employee at Cone Mills, White Oak Plant. He worked for ECOFLO for 22 years before his untimely death. He also taught small engine repair at GTCC for 27 years. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert L. Murray Sr. Surviving is his loving wife, Debbie Westmoreland Murray; his daughter Marty Murray-Minor (Michael); three sisters, Martha M. Wadford (Jimmy), Ellie Mae Barham (J.C.) and Marie W. Murray; a grand-daughter, Madison Tommy 'Babygirl' Minor and many loving nieces and nephews with many special extended family members and friends. There are also two dogs, Walker and Mariah that will miss Eddie. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 ' 8 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Debbie request that any donations be made to Guilford County Animal Shelter 4525 W Wendover Ave. GSO, 27409. This can be done by by donating cash, food or even adopting an animal. This would make Eddie very happy knowing the animals were taken care of in his memory.
