Obituary of Louella Laing

Louella Payne Glover Laing, age 84 passed away January 26, 2018 at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro. A Celebration Of Life Gathering will be held Sunday February 4, 2 pm until 4 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Louella was born on July 2, 1933 in Long Island, Virginia to the late Samuel and Emma Younger Payne. In the late 1950's, she relocated to New York for better employment opportunities. There she met and married the late George Glover and they had three daughters, Wanda, of Winston-Salem, NC, Alisa, of Harvey, IL, and Cynthia, of Lynchburg, VA. She later met and married her husband Arthur Laing, and they had one son, Arthur, of Hempstead, NY. She was preceded in death by ( 3 ) brothers, Harrison, Robert and Carlton Payne: (5) sisters as follows: Ida M. Hibbert, Zula Hall, Pearl Hall, Alberta Hall and Fannie M. Stone. Those left to cherish her loving memories are: ( 2 ) sisters, Annie P. Hall of Gretna, VA; and Mattie P. Patrick of Uniondale, New York. She has 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Mom is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Louella always loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was filled with His precious Holy Spirit.
