Obituary of Bobby Wayne Matherly

Bobby Wayne Matherly, 68, died at Moses Cone Hospital with his family surrounding him. Bobby was born September 14, 1945, in Guilford County to Warren "Jimmy" and Viola Hardy Matherly. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Lamberth officiating.His cremates will be placed in the mausoleum at Lakeview Memorial Park at a later date. Bobby was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Burlington. He retired with 26 years of service from the Guilford County Sheriffs Department and he was in he US Navy from 1963-1965. He was a strong, hard working family man known as "Bop" to many. Bobby was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, Kay Jackson Matherly; his two daughters, Kim Jaggers and husband Keith, Denise May and husband Ashley; mother, Viola Matherly; brother, Tommy Matherly and wife Joyce; grandchildren, Kristal Jaggers and fiancé TJ; Kris Jaggers, Cameron Powell, Jaden Moffitt, Zach and Luke May. The family will receive friends on Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and other times at the residence.
