Obituary of Ruby Louise Lewis

Ruby Louise Lewis, 79, died on November 5, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital. Ruby was born on November 16, 1933 to Clyde and Dessie Spencer Beasley in Booneville, Mississippi. She and Arra Robert Lewis married on January 1, 1949. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Summerfield with the Reverend Roger Barrick officiating. The interment will follow the service in the church's cemetery. The family will have a reception in honor of Ruby at the church after the service. Ruby was preceded in death by her oldest child, Shirley Joan Lewis, and her parents. She is survived by her husband, Robert; her three children, Teresa, Richard, Randy; two sisters, Irene and Judy; two brothers, Harold and Jerry , eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ruby worked for fifty years for Blue Bell - VF Corporation as a supervisor on the sewing floor. She retired in 2003. Her hobbies were sewing and gardening. She donated her time with the Meals-on-Wheels program and she refurbished dolls for charities. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. The family requests that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Diabetes Association at P.O.
