Obituary of Mackdee Thomas Essick

Mackdee "Mack" Thomas Essick, 87, died on October 7, 2013. Mack was born on December 26, 1925 to Eli and Ida Burgess Essick in Guildford County. There will be a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday October 10, 2013 at Northwest Baptist Church in Greensboro where he was a member with Pastor Rick Hamann officiating. The interment will follow in the church's cemetery. Mack was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, loving wife, Margaret R. Essick. He is survived by his four sons, Curtis Franklin Essick of Randleman, Mack T. Essick, Jr. and wife Margaret of Lexington, Terry Wayne Essick and Donnie Lee Kelly both of Greensboro; two sisters, Myrtle Whitaker and Bernie Jane Rierson both of Madison; two grandsons, Connie Ray Essick and Anthony Mark Essick and one great-grandchild. Mack was a WWII Navy veteran. He was an avid golfer. If he was not on the course playing he was under the tree watching. The family will receive friends at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
