Obituary of Allen Whitaker

Allen Whitaker, 80, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 20, 2013. To celebrate his memory, Allen leaves behind his wife, Sally Whitaker. Allen was a devoted and loving husband. He and Sally cherished almost 60 years together. He was not only a loving husband but a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, August 23, 2013 in the chapel of Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Pastor Jerry Strader and Reverend Nila Souther will be officiating. After the service Allen will be laid to rest in Lakeview Memorial Park's Mausoleum. Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Edgar and Minnie Rosella Whitaker; his sister Kate "Pete" Schoolfield and brothers Ben and Melvin Whitaker. He is survived by his four children, Carolyn Rowlen and her husband Bob, Wayne Whitaker and his wife, Cathey, Kenny Whitaker and his wife Nancy, Penny Gaulden and her husband Wes; grandchildren, Kimberly Rowlen, Jennifer Paschal and her husband Bo, Brandon Rowlen, Drew Whitaker and his wife Amanda, Tracey Duncan and her husband Matt, Jesse Whitaker, Korey and Shelby Gaulden; six precious great-grandchildren, Trever and Cody White, Hailey and Hunter Paschal, Eva Whitaker and Kellan Duncan; he also leaves a special brother-in-law and sister-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews. Allen was of the Baptist faith and he loved the Lord. He also served his country as part of the US Air Force. The family will receive friends at 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. The family would encourage donations to be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
