Obituary of James William Dalton

Mr. James William Dalton Sr. "Buck" passed away at Wesley Long Hospital Monday, August 19, 2013. Born 11-08-34, he was preceded in death by parents Leonard and Della May; brothers Earnest, Richard, John Ray, Junior, and Raymond; and one sister Jean Adkins. He left behind his wife of 48 years, Wanda; children James Jr., Tina Stewart, Jerry Todd and Jan Morrison; sisters Rosa Taylor, Elizabeth Wyrick, Lilly Vaughn, Emma McCoy; four grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Buck retired from P. Lorillard in 1997 with 38 years of service. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict, and was a member of American Legion Post 386 for 46 years. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 pm till 8 pm at the funeral home. Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home on West Wendover Ave. Burial will follow with military honors at Lakeview Memorial Park. Pall Bearers will be Joe Morrison, Woody Parrish, Jerry McCoy, Wesley Adkins, Thomas Pratt and Mark Stewart. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions go to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance or the American Cancer Society.
