Obituary of Shirley Faye Hodges Segrave

Mrs. Shirley Faye Hodges Segrave, 54, a resident of Kernersville, was called home to her heavenly Father on Sunday afternoon, May 12, 2013 at her residence after a long battle with cancer for twelve years. Her husband Mike was by her side in her passing. A Celebration of Faye's life will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home Chapel, 300 W. Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC with the Rev. Andy Garner officiating. The interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park. Faye was born in Greensboro on April 19,1959 and she was the daughter of Wayne Lewis Hodges and Barbara Mitchell Hodges. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister and Aunt. Faye was a very proud and devoted mother of her two sons, Travis Wayne Hodges and Walter Keith McClintock. Throughout her hardships, Faye's love for life extended beyond her own needs and always had a desire to help others that were less fortunate. She kept a very optimistic outlook and always was a great inspiration to our family. Prior to her illness, Faye worked for the Guilford County School System. She enjoyed spending her quality time with the love of her life, Mike, often traveling to Atlantic City and Cherokee. Faye was preceded in death by her son Walter Keith McClintock, father Rev. Wayne Lewis Hodges, brother Wayne L. Hodges Jr., sister Linda Kay Hodges and brother-in-law Wilfred Page. Faye is survived by her husband Mike Segrave of the home, son Travis Wayne Hodges, mother Barbara Mitchell Hodges, sisters Susan Hodges Lambly and husband Barry, Jane Hodges Page, Cathy Hodges Griffin and husband Jackie, Ruth Hodges Sumner and husband Marty. She will be greatly missed by all of her nieces, nephews, and other family members. Faye was loved by many and will not be forgotten. She was special to us all. We will miss her smile, laughter, her strength and her adoration for life. The family would like to thank Mike Segrave for being a devoted, loving husband and for sacrificing so much for Faye. You were the shining light in her final years with us. She will live on in our hearts and dreams forever. We'll meet again… The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
