Obituary of Hildred Deaton

Our mother, Mrs. Hildred Roddy Deaton, 90, stepped into eternity on Monday October 1, with her family by her side. A funeral service will be held 2:00 Friday at Northside Baptist Church with the Reverend Thomas Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hildred was born in Guilford County on August 30, 1922 to Cletus and Daisy Roddy and was predeceased by her husband James C. Deaton. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Surviving are daughter Kay Deaton Swofford and husband Bill of Greensboro; son Rod Deaton and wife Deigh of Greensboro; grandchildren Jim, Rudy, Michael, and Andy Swofford and Laurie Deaton; and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Birch Village Ashton Place.
