Obituary of Helen Strickland

Wilmington, NC Mrs. Helen D. Strickland, 87, died on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her home in Wilmington, NC. She was born on January 30th, 1925 in Greensboro, NC to the late Maggie and Charlie Denson. She retired from Cone Mills after 42 years of service. The funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home with the interment immediately afterwards at Lakeview Memorial Park. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband David L. Strickland and siblings Ruth Murphy, Ralph Denson, Lloyd Denson, and Fred Denson. She is survived by her children, Linda S. Goldman of Wilmington, NC and Ricky F. Strickland and his wife Rebecca of Murfreesboro, TN. Also surviving are grandchildren Kimberly S. Saar and husband Jamie of Murfreesboro, TN, Jason Strickland and wife Krista of Burke, VA and Richard Strickland and wife Lindsay of Smyrna, TN. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren John and Ryan Saar, Kathleen, Emily and Alex Strickland. Amazingly, she is also survived by her 101 year old aunt Myrtle Cockman. The family will receive friends from 6PM-8PM, Monday, September 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
