Obituary of Berman Royal

Berman Eugene Royal Berman Eugene Royal, 80, died Friday June 22, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mr. Royal was born on November 8, 1931 in Greensboro to John Berman and Sarah Barbour Royal. The funeral service will be Tuesday, June 26 at 2:00 pm at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home with the interment following at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Berman retired as a Battalion Commander from the Greensboro Fire Department after 30 years of service. He enjoyed being with his family and friends especially his friends at the fire department. He loved the camaraderie of his buddies at the fire department especially their golf and fishing trips. Berman was a member of the Masons and the American Legion Post 386. Berman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patsy Fargis Royal; his daughter, Brenda R. (Tom) Castle; his son, Steven B. Royal; sisters, Ilene R. Ingram, Betty R. Thornberg; grandchildren Adam (Katie) Hicks and Andrew (Kristy) Hicks; great-grandchildren Addison and Ella Hicks. The family would like to thank the staff of Piney Grove Nursing and Rehab, Forsyth Medical and Palliative Care and Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for the wonderful care they provided Berman.
