Obituary of Vivian Nichols Rouse

Mrs. Vivian Nadine Nichols Rouse, 91, of Liberty and formerly of Albertson, died Wednesday, May 1, 2012 at Moses Cone Hospital. Mrs. Rouse was born April 12, 1921, in Nashville, TN to William and Nannie Mae Nichols. She was married for over 61 years to the late Rupert Garth Rouse. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Wesley Graham Rouse. We mourn the physical loss of a great lady. She gave birth to 6 children but was a mother to many. She was at home on a farm working side by side with her husband after growing up in the middle of a city. She was strong of faith and giving of heart. She was feisty yet gentle, opinionated yet fair. She loved hard and gave all. Her mind and her spirit were unbreakable, her tenderness and her wisdom abundant. Her physical presence will be greatly missed but she will live on in the hearts and minds of all she touched. We love you Mom and know that you are once again in the arms of your loving husband, son and family with God. Mrs. Rouse is survived by her daughters, Sandra Lipsomb (James), Freida Mills, Carla Jones (Tommy), and Marsha Runyan (Kevin); son, Elton Rouse; daughter-in-law, Betty Rouse; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Palliative Care Hospice, 1200 N Elm Street Unit 4500, Greensboro, NC 27401 or Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204. Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home is assisting the Rouse family. The obituary and online condolences may be viewed at www.lambethtroxlerfuneralhome.com
