Marie Boisette

Obituary of Marie Boisette

Yveline Boisette was born in Cayes, Haiti. She resided there until she was fifteen years old, when she came to New York to join the rest of her family. Yveline came from a family of six children- three girls and three boys. She was the third child, the first daughter born to Rolande and Millevoix Boisette. She is survived her mother, Rolande; her sibilings: Mario Boisette and his wife Narcissa, Michel Boisette and his wife Farrell, Magalie Boisette Newman and her Husband Billy, Joel Boisette, and Nancia Boisette Pantoja and her husband Enrique; along with six nieces and nephews. Being the younger sister of Mario and Michel, Yveline grew up wanting to be just like them. She enjoyed playing with marbles, riding bicycles, and flying kites. She wasn't afraid of falling down or skinning her knees, as she was always quick to get back on her feet. Growing up, she came to deeply love music: she played the piano and violin, but her preferred instrument was the guitar. After graduating from high school, she pursued a degree in Music from York College in Queens. While in her late teens, she formed a musical group with her sisters, Nancia and Magalie, and her younger brother, Joel. She aspired to a career as a musician and was able to book gigs in Brooklyn and in neighboring cities. Later, Yveline joined the United State Armed Forces. Following her training, she served on active duty from October 12, 1988 to November 3, 1989 when she retired with honors as Private First Class. Yveline had a good heart. She was kind, compassionate, and truly cared about people. She was always willing to sacrifice of herself to provide for others. Her mother has fond memories of Yveline bringing friends and strangers alike into their home for a meal or a room when in need. She instinctively saw the good in people and desired to help them. Yveline was loved by many; she will be remembered and greatly missed.
