Obituary of Lee Suttles

Mr. Lee Suttles, 96, of Greensboro and Raleigh, died ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬Friday, March 16, 2012 at Wesley Long Hospital. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 18th, at Greenhill Cemetery, with the Rev. Karen Hudson officiating. Mr. Suttles will lie in state from 3 to 6 pm Saturday, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Home. Mr. Suttles was born June 26, 1915, to Turner and Rosa Morgan Suttles in Greenville, S.C. His mother died in childbirth, and he was raised by Minnie Needham Suttles. He was a WWII veteran, graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and King's Business College, and attended N.C. State University. He was a salesman and enjoyed tending his beautiful yard of azaleas and other flowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years Garnet Whitt Suttles, sister Angeline Hodgin and husband 'Smoky', and grandson David Bagwell. Mr. Suttles is survived by his daughter, Nancy S. Bagwell and husband Will of Reidsville, grandchildren: Ray Bagwell and wife Pam of Apex, Terri Roberts of Greensboro, and Rob Bagwell of Concord. He was also 'Paw Paw' to 7 great grandchildren: Jeremy, Ben and Ashley Bagwell, Damon and Jordan Roberts, Katie and Emily Bagwell. He is also survived by sister Frances Ritter, brother James T Suttles and wife Jean, and many nieces and nephews.
