Obituary of James Marine

Biography Kernersville-James "Jimmy" Roger Marine, 78, went home to be with his Lord January 6, 2013 following several months of declining health. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday January 9, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Baity officiating. Interment will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. A native of Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Flossie Loy and George Marine. He served his country with the United States Marine Corps in Korea. He was married to the late Margaret Ann Bunn and he was a truck driver for 41 years. He was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents and wife, he also was preceded in death by sisters Mary Kercheval, Evelyn Sykes, and Carolyn Atkins, and brothers Frank and Roy Marine. Survivors include his daughters Donna Norris and Tim of Kernersville, and Lesa Norris and Eric of Clemmons; grandchildren Shannon Walker, Eric Norris II, and Hollie Norris; stepdaughters Debbie Isley and Julie Berrier and Scott; step-grandchildren Crystal, Jonathan, and Jessica; great-grandchildren Gage and Callie Walker; sisters Sandy Pope and Tommy, Margie Marine, Georgia Johnson and Floyd, Joanne Pinnix and David, and Sylvia Teague; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
