Obituary of Peggy Gordon

Greensboro-Peggy Jean Smith Gordon, 81, went home to be with her Lord January 3, 2013. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Sunday January 6, 2013 at Smith Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Smith and Cordie Hedgecock Smith. She graduated from the former Colfax High School. She was married to the late Roscoe Belven Gordon. She had been a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church and was attending Midway Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she also was preceded in death by her daughter Beverly Diane Gordon and Teresa Dawn Gordon, sister Ellen Cross, and brother Lester Smith. Survivors include her sons Michael B. Gordon and Christine of Oak Island and Terry Dale Gordon and Virginia of Southport; grandchildren Heather Nicole Gordon, Elizabeth Lynette Gordon, and Josh Gordon; sister Beulah Lemar of Kernersville; several nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church on Sunday.
