Obituary of Peggy Burr

Biography Belews Creek-Peggy Jane Lasley Burr, 76, went home to be with her Lord August 27, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 4:00PM Thursday August 30, 2012 at Antioch United Methodist Church, 6080 Belews Creek Road, with Pastor Karen Branch and Rev. Gary Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She was born September 9, 1935 in Forsyth County to the late Eva Dura Dwiggins and Junius Walter Lasley. She graduated from Walkertown High School and later the former City Hospital School of Nursing in Winston-Salem. She retired as the Director of Student Health Services at Wake Forest University. After her retirement she worked as the company Nurse at Hooker Furniture for a number of years. She was a life-long member of Antioch United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her son Gary Lee Burr, and her brother William Ray Lasley. Survivors include her daughter Jane Lee Burr and her special friend Eddie Lawson of the home; sisters include her twin Polly L. Whicker, and Lucille L. Hester, and Alline L. Hester(William)all of Belews Creek; sister-in-law, Sadie B. Lasley of Kernersville, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Wednesday evening at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home in Kernersville.
