Obituary of Sarah Hatton

Biography Kernersville-Sarah P. Hatton, 85, went home to be with her Lord July 27, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 3:30PM Tuesday July 31, 2012 at Edgewood Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro with Brother Jim Gore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Laurel County, Kentucky, Sarah was the daughter of the late Katherine Melissa Ferguson and Vincent Parman. She was a RN and got her training during WWII at the Army Cadet Nursing Corp. in Louisville, Kentucky. She retired from nursing after almost 60 years serving others. She had attended Edgewood Baptist Church while her husband, Rev. Kendall Hatton served as an interim pastor, and was a member of Hinshaw Street Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her sisters Katherine "Kitty" Hilton and Carolyn Frazier, and brother Kenneth Parman. Survivors include her loving husband Kendall Hatton of Kernersville; daughter Katherine Garrett and Mark of Greensboro; grandchildren Zack Garrett and his wife Samantha, and Caroline Garrett; great-grandchildren Chandler Garrett, and Abby and Mackenzie. The family will visit with friends from 2:00PM Tuesday until time for the service at the church.
