Obituary of Chandler Holdaway

Send Flowers Chandler Tate Holdaway September 16, 2010 - June 27, 2012 High Point - Chandler Tate Holdaway, 21 months, slipped from this life into eternity while in the arms of his parents and surrounded by family in High Point, NC, on June 27, 2012. Chandler was born Sept. 16, 2010 in Durham, NC, to Chris and Tiffany Holdaway. His parents lovingly and devotedly helped care for him through three major heart surgeries and multiple procedures. His heart could be repaired, but not his pulmonary veins. Chandler was born with only half the heart needed for a physically healthy life, but there was nothing half-hearted about Chandler's spirit. He was very happy, never complained and fought valiantly through each trial he faced. He was a great example to his family of courage and determination. He loved nothing more than just being home with his family. This time was especially sweet because after his first two surgeries he had to spend several weeks in the hospital. Spending time with his big brothers, Boston and Tyler, and big sister, Tess, along with his parents, was his greatest joy. Make-A-Wish offered to make any dream trip come true for the family, but the thing Chandler wanted most was just to be home with his family. Chandler loved going places, seeing things, and experiencing life. He considered it his day's work to throw tupperware out of the drawer, dvd's out of the console, and food off his highchair tray. When tested, throwing was the skill Chandler excelled in the most. Chandler is survived by his parents and siblings, grandparents, Ed and Joanna Murdock, of Queen Creek, AZ, and Gaylan and MarLeah Holdaway of Boise, ID, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM, Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 8934 W Market St. in Colfax. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 AM with burial in the grove behind the church. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain....(Rev. 21:4) Chandler is dearly loved by so many and we eagerly look forward to the day when we will be reunited with him.
