Obituary of Anderson Scott

Kernersville-Anderson “A.L.” Scott, 84, went home to be with his Lord April 4, 2012. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Saturday April 7, 2012 at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church with Pastor Sam White, Rev. Phil Kirkman, and Rev. Bob Scott officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. A native of Surry County, A.L. was the son of the late Betty Reese and Jerry Remson Scott. He had been a member of Shady Grove Wesleyan Church since 1955 and had served in several leadership capacities of the church. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company after 37 years of service. Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years Esther Scott of Kernersville; sons Bill Scott and Bonnie of Kernersville and Rev. Bob Scott and Joy of Maiden; grandchildren Zach Scott and Amy of Kernersville, Christen Scott and Allen Klein of Edgemoor, SC, Rebecca Scott and Chris Mitchell, and Rachel Scott and Johnny Stogner of Crouse, NC; several great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will visit with friends from 1:00PM Saturday until time for the service at the church.
