Obituary of Jerry Hollar

Biography Colfax-Jerry Ray Hollar, 70, died February 2, 2012 at his home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:30PM Tuesday February 7, 2012 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kernersville with Father Paul Dechant O.S.F.S. officiating. A native of Boone, NC, Jerry was the son of the late Ruth Annie Payne and Fred Ernest Hollar. He served his country with the US Navy. He retired from Consolidated Freight and also had driven for Pilot Freight Carriers for a number of years. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his sister Peggy Fletcher. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 50 years Joan Hollar of the home; daughter Dawn Hollar Webster and Ray of Wallburg; son Jerry Michael Hollar of Greensboro; grandchildren Ashley Brooke Webster and Leah Nicole Webster; sisters Sharon Yokeley, and Phyllis Nelson and James. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to Mass on Tuesday, and immediately following the service in Salesian Hall at the church.
