Obituary of Cheryl Miller

Kernersville-Cheryl Lynn Miller, 51, went home to be with her Lord April 5, 2011 following a long struggle with colon cancer. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 2:00PM Saturday April 9, 2011 at Sedge Garden United Methodist Church with Rev. Joanne Henley officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. A native of Mecklenburg County, Cheryl was the daughter of the late Mary Ann Waters Miller and Raymond Glenn Miller. She also was preceded in death by her brother Terry Wayne Miller. She was a 1977 graduate of East Forsyth High School, and employed with Forsyth County Department of Social Services as a social/case worker. She loved life, family, friends, her pets (Leah, Gizmo, and Coal), lighthouses, the seashore, and spending time with her children. Survivors include her daughters Christina Whittington of Winston-Salem, and Stacy Whittington of Graham; son Matthew Whittington of Greenville; brothers Andy Miller and Lacy Ben Miller both of Kernersville, Jerry Miller of Charlotte, and Donnie Miller of Winston-Salem; sister Shelby Bradham of Charlotte; life partner and companion Robin Bonfiglio of Winston-Salem. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Home.
