Obituary of Elizabeth Barrow Brendle

Kernersville-Elizabeth “Tip” Meadows Barrow Brendle, 90, died November 18, 2013. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Rev. Kevin Frack officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. A native of Stokes County, “Tip” was the daughter, and the oldest of nine girls, born to the late Mary Elizabeth Willis and Isaac Theodore Meadows. She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, hairstylist, and the consummate homemaker. She was married to the late Allen Lowrey Barrow who died November 20, 1984. She later married the late Russell Frederick Brendle who died November 11, 2008. She also was preceded in death by her sisters Janet Jewel Vance, Theo Inez Stephens, and Bonnie Robbins. Survivors include her daughter Brenda B. Sullivan of Hendersonville; son Steven L. Barrow and Joyce of Newberry, SC; grandchildren Derrick Willard and Jenny, Beth Bockoven and Paul, Scott Barrow and Katie, and Stephanie Jenkins and George; great-grandchildren Mac, Anna Grace, Carson, Cecilia, Kathryn, and Noah; sisters Minnie Belle Morphis, Linda Marion Slate, Jeanette Bull, Yvonne Steptoe and Jimmy, and Connie Atkins and Phil; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will visit with friends from Noon until time for the service at the funeral home on Friday.
