Obituary of Robert Copeland

Kernersville-Robert G. “Bob” Copeland, 76, went home to be with the Lord November 9, 2013. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Kernersville Wesleyan Church with Pastor Phil Hulen officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Marion County, Indiana, Bob was the son of the late Sylvia Ruth Underwood and Paul Tillman Copeland. He served his Country with the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He was a self-employed commercial artist and worked for numerous companies including Douglas Batteries and Hanes Hosiery to name a few. He was a member of Kernersville Wesleyan Church. He will be fondly remembered as “The Kernersville Tropical Sno Man”. In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jane “Janie” Locke Copeland. Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years Shaaron Bailey Copeland of the home; daughters Michelle Copeland Johnson of Youngsville, and Gina Copeland Brown and Mark of Concord; son David Copeland and Brandy of Winston-Salem; step-daughters Adrienne Schultze of Winston-Salem, and Allison Matlock and Daniel of West Palm Beach, Florida; grandchildren Sean, Morgan, Faith, Chase, Sawyer, and Brantley Robert Copeland; step-grandchildren Gordon, Anna Beth, William, and Bailey; and sister Mary Jane Schuman and Ben of Marion County, IN. The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Tuesday evening at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel.
