Kernersville-Edward Gillane Smith, 89, of Gateway Place, passed away peacefully November 7, 2013. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 9:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Father Paul Dechant, O.S.F.S. officiating. Edward was born August 14, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. Survivors include his daughter Eileen Gilreath and her husband Stephen; grandchildren Jessica, Cheryl, Angela and Derek; great-grandchildren Jacob, Zachary, and Abigail.
