Obituary of Katherine Atkins

Kernersville-Katherine "Katie" Rene Atkins, 25, has left us too soon, but God has received a beautiful Angel both inside and out, November 4, 2013. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00PM Noon on Saturday November 9, 2013 at First Christian Church. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service at the church. A native of Forsyth County, Katie was born July 24, 1988. She was a 2006 graduate of Kernersville Glenn High School. She was an Optometrist Technician with Garber Eye Associates. She was a loving caregiver and enjoyed helping others. People always said she never met a stranger, and was a friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Carolyn Atkins, her maternal grandmother Sue Martin, maternal grandfather Bob Martin, and her step-father Gary Fitzpatrick. Survivors include her mother Denise Martin Atkins of Belews Creek; her father Robert "Robbie" Atkins and step-mother Denise Crutchfield Atkins of Kernersville; sister Jessica "Jessie" Atkins and Audra Wright of Walkertown; step-brothers SSG. Sean Fitzpatrick, SrA Ross Fitzpatrick, and Chris Atkins; boyfriend Albert Jacobs of the home; paternal grandfather Herbert Atkins of Kernersville; numerous aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.
