Obituary of Lamarr Fry

Kernersville- Lamarr Edward (Ed) Fry, 68, went to be with the Lord October 23, 2013 at Forsyth Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born in Norfolk, Virginia June 19, 1945 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Lamarr Fry. Ed enjoyed a long career, serving over 33 years in the US Army. His service to our country included tours in Vietnam. Germany, Bosnia and the Pentagon. In his retirement years he was an avid golfer and volunteered at the Kernersville VFW, and was post Commander for the last several years. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was the rock of his family always lending them support. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Sally Staples Fry; daughter Kim Hahn; son Jeff Fry and his wife Cathy; step daughter Kristie Clary Corl and her husband Kavin; son-in-law Tim Wright; grandchildren Jeremy, Sean Michael, Kaitlyn and Hunter. He is predeceased by his parents and step daughter Melanie Wright. The family will receive friends Monday October 28, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pierce Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
