Obituary of David Crook

Kernersville-David Lee Crook, 63, passed away September 21, 2013 while vacationing at Oak Island, NC. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 5:00PM Sunday September 29, 2013 at Pisgah United Methodist Church where he was a longtime member. Inurnment with full Military Honors will follow the service in the church Columbarium. A native of Rutherfordton, David was the son of Jettie Carroll Crook and the late Rev. Raymond Lee Crook. He was retired following 30 years of service with the US Navy. He loved the Ocean, the beach, and anywhere he could be around water. It was so fitting that God called him home as he was resting beside the ocean at Oak Island. He will certainly be missed by his beloved "Maxie". Survivors include his loving wife of 16 years Donna Shelton of the home and his mother Jettie Carroll Crook of Forest City. He also is survived by two sisters Connie Summer and husband Garry, and Jane Lail. He also was survived by his uncle Max Crook and his wife Hildra, and special brother-in-law Michael Shelton. The family will visit with friends from 4-6pm Saturday September 28, 2013 in the Jefferson House located at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services.
