Obituary of Charles Miller

Charles Wilbur Miller was born February 28, 1936 in Alamance County to the late Blanche Foust Miller and Johnny Robertson. He entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Moses Cone Hospital surrounded by family. Mr. Miller attended Sedalia High School and later moved up north where he met his wife, Joyce Miller, who preceded him in death. God blessed this union with three beautiful daughters, Lydia Mary, Dora Jean and Ellie Ruth. In order to provide for his family, Charles worked various jobs as a shipping clerk, waiter and carpenter. Give him a hammer and some nails, and he could build just about anything. Charles was a jack of all trades and he mastered the art of flirting with pretty women. He was a very friendly person who never met a stranger. His favorite past-time was watching old westerns and wrestling matches on TV. Charles and his family later returned to North Carolina where he attended Bethany United Church of Christ in Sedalia. In his later years, he gave his life to Christ. Charles Miller will be truly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Survivors include his daughters, Lydia Mary Tucker, Dora Jean Smith, Ellie Ruth Sombelon; grandchildren, Joshua Isaiah and Steven Oliver Charles Tucker, Michael Keith Jr. and Marcus Kyle Smith; his brother, Roy Lee Foust (Betty); nephews, Rufus Lee and Marvin Dale Foust; niece, Betty Marie Wicker (Allen); three stepchildren, Beatrice Miller, Carroll and Mark Johnson; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Thursday August 29, 2013 at Bethany United Church of Christ, 6125 Burlington Road, Sedalia, NC, 27249. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 1:30PM until time for the service at the church on Thursday.
