Biography Kernersville-Betty Martin Waddell, 91, passed away July 13, 2013. Graveside Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be held 2:00PM Saturday July 27, 2013 at the Greenlawn Cemetery on Leesburg Road in Columbia, South Carolina. A native of Benedict, Nebraska, Betty was the daughter of the late Glenn Martin and Beryl Pearson Martin. She was married to the late Calvin Dennis Waddell, Jr., and the mother of the late Robert Burns Waddell, Roy Martin Waddell, and Calvin Dennis Waddell, III. She was a member of Kathwood Baptist Church in Columbia, SC. She had been an active member of the Red Hat's Society in Columbia and the Finlay House where she lived. She currently was living at Reynolda Park Assisted Living in Winston-Salem, NC. Survivors include her son James "Jim" Waddell and Sherry of Kernersville; grandchildren Mandy Paschen and Doug, Tony Waddell and Amy, Brian Waddell, and Chris Waddell; great-grandchildren Megan, Jay, Lilly, Makenzie, Jack, Anna, and Charlie; daughter in-law Dolores Waddell; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
