Obituary of Shirley O'Briant

Kernersville-Shirley Council O’Briant, 81, went home to be with her Lord April 17, 2013. Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held 11:00AM Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel with Dr. Steve Martin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Gur Cemetery. A native of Durham, NC, Shirley was the daughter of the late Emma Walls and Everette Enfil Council. She was longtime member of Kernersville First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her loving husband of almost 64 years Calvin O’Briant of the home; daughter Vicki O’Briant Amick of Kernersville; son Michael O’Briant and Peggy of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Joshua Amick, Heather Gastley, and Michael Lee O’Briant, II; brother E. M. “Buddy” Council and Dee of Rocky Mount. The family will visit with friends from 10:00AM Saturday until time for the service at the funeral home.
