Obituary of Clyde Jarrell
Biography
Kernersville-Clyde Rickey "Rick" Jarrell, 71, passed away March 3, 2013.
Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 2:00PM Wednesday March 6, 2013 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral & Cremation Services Chapel. Interment will follow in the Main Street United Methodist Church Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Eleene Durham and Clyde H. Jarrell. He was a graduate of Kernersville High School Class of '60 and was President of his Senior Class. He was an outstanding Football player and was named All-Conference, Most Valuable Player, and received the Thom McAn Award. He went to East Carolina College in Greenville, NC, on a football scholarship.
He retired from the R.J. Reynolds following 34 years of service. He was a Master Mason member of Walden Lodge No. 274, AFM in Greenville, SC. His hobbies included riding his Harley, researching genealogy, and working with his hands.
In addition to his parents he also was preceded in death by his infant brother Jimmy Jarrell.
Survivors include his wife Iris B. Jarrell of the home; children Tami Jarrell Mankins and her husband Rick, Cris Jarrell and his wife Donna, Kim Jarrell and boyfriend Joe Parker, and Miguel Martin and his wife Nicki; grandchildren Cortney and Cydney Mankins, Criston and Ethan Jarrell, and Drake Whicker; sister Karen Jarrell Cannon and her husband Ric; brother Jody H. Jarrell; and a host of extended family and friends.
The family will visit with friends from 6-8pm Tuesday night at the funeral home.
