Lezlie is my oldest and dearest friend from High School. She and I shared some wonderful memories together. Shortly after high school, I moved to Alabama. Lezlie stayed and attended college in our hometown before deciding on a career with the airlines. I remember I was apprehensive about her choice. Lezlie wasn't. She was the type of person to embrace change and chose not to live in fear. It was a career that would take her around the world, traveling and meeting many different people and experiencing new cultures. Lezlie and I were very different in most ways. I think that is what attracted me to her. She was poised, polished and confident. Although those are wonderful attributes, what I most loved about her was her infectious laugh (my mind can still recall it and replays it for me to hear) and her enthusiasm for life. She was always a positive person, always accepting of others, non-judgmental, self-sacrificing and she loved her family and friends deeply. I never saw she and her brother Lance fight- ever. Siblings, when young, usually argue and don't want to be around each other, but I never witnessed it. Lezlie and Lance, her mother and father were always so close. The 4 musketeers comes to mind when I think of their relationship. I remember Lezlie being far ahead of the clothing trends and she loved the color red. It was her color for sure. I remember she started wearing a pair of red cowboy boots, no one wore red cowboy boots. Many, many years later, I was at her house in North Carolina and what did I see in her closet- those same red cowboy boots! Money well spent for sure. Once I find the "right" pair, I plan to buy them- in honor of this wonderful girl. Over the past thirty-eight years, Lezlie and I would travel between Alabama and Georgia, then Louisiana and North Carolina to spend a little time together. The last time being a girls trip to Miami. We hadn't seen each other in a while, but it was as though no time had passed. We picked right up, no awkwardness, no hesitation. Just two people who shared a strong connection, unbroken by time. She was my best friend. I dearly loved her and appreciated our differences. My last words to her were "I love you and I miss you". Written by text on Thanksgiving day 2020. I'm so glad I keep my messages, as I didn't get to speak those words to her again. Gone too soon. Until we meet again my dear girl....

As a dear coworker of mine at Stealing Share, I have known Mike for nearly 15 years. We shared some wonderful holiday dinners together with Lezlie and Mike and the gang. Every year I so looked forward to seeing everyone and Mike so proud to have Lezlie on his arm. Prayers for Mike and family. Love, Ran and Kat Jones

Please accept our sympathies. May God grant her sons, husband, parents and brother peace and comfort. Lezlie was our cousin and even though we didn't get to see her often, we knew she was a beautiful person by her grace and love of others. She was my grandparents first great grandchild, I remember how happy they were to meet her, they are with her again. Love to all with love. Tim and Sherri Engels, El Dorado, KS
