Heavy hearted over the news of a dearly loved alumni of GHS passing. While Moses struggled in many areas, he excelled in the one that counts the most...having a heart. He taught lessons without being in front of the class. Moses WAS his
own legacy...and didn't try to be one...he simply showed up, smiled and did all needing to be done as best he could while working booster and concessions at GHS (seemingly) forever. He had a sweet way about him and, though he struggled in many areas, his heart was as big as they come (along with his laugh). RIP, old friend!

Moses, you were one of the friendliest, nicest guys in our entire class. You were an example of hard work and perseverence, combined with a great joy and a policy of sharing happiness and good manners with everyone you ran across. I would wish you peace, but that's not appropriate. Instead, I wish you a continuation of the peace you have always had.

Moses and his Dad were fixtures at the fieldhouse gate at Jamieson Stadium for more than just the Whirlies...they adopted Greensboro College football and were faithful and dependable gameday staff members. I will always remember and cherish the visits at the gate with Moses and his wonderful sense of humor, and admire his Dad who always made sure Moses was prepared and on duty. His gentle spirit will be greatly missed.

Moses was a great guy who was a friend to all. He was well respected and loved by his Grimsley family. Moses and I played trumpet together in band and I always liked trying to
make him smile, which is how I will remember him.

My heart goes out to Moses' family. He was such a sweet person--I remember him from high school, and his face in this photo still has the same light and joy to it as he did over 30 years ago. He took the trouble to send me a birthday note on my 50th, which just made my day. He will be missed by many. I hope you take comfort in the fact that your Moses impacted those around him with his gentle, sweet, kind, and happy demeanor. We should all be more like him.

Renee and family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. It sounds as if Moses was truly a special "young" man.
