11/14/2013 - Guy M Norton
Here on November 12, 2013, I am just learning of Don's passing. Although I have not seen him since I retired 24 years ago this past February, I feel his loss. I remember him well, especially his exuberant and outgoing personality that couldn't help but make you smile. Although I was never in the USMC, I married the daughter of a MSMC Officer who retied to Jacksonville, NC after 31 years of active duty. Every year, we went down to my in-laws for the Marine Corps Birthday Ball at Camp Jejune, NC Knowing this, Don never failed to stop by and wish me a Happy MSMC Birthday.
My thought and prayers are with his family.

Linda,
You are in my heart and prayers. I know you are surrounded by many friends and family and also that God is keeping watch over you but I also know how devastating it is to loose someone so dear. We are born to reside in another place but it still makes it no easier to handle. Peace and love be with you. Ginny Jackson

Oh Linda, I am so sorry to learn of Don's passing. I still have that wonderful cassette tape he made me years ago, I still listen to it often! My heart goes out to you and all your family. I know Don will continue to love you with all his heart, just from a different direction. Love never dies... Hugs and prayers to you, Love, Too.

As I read Donald's obituary, I can only think of what he was feeling, how was he going to say his last goodbye, who he was going to kiss last, who was he going to touch last!............with all this being said, Donald, your Husband and Father touched ME, yes ME, he never judged me, when others did. Donald was a yes and no, black and white type person, and for that, I respected him. A fond memory that I will always remember, Donald and I watching "ELVIS from Hawaii" on tape in his living room, we said nothing as we watched one of, if not the greatest singers in the world.......... You're Friend.

A mighty heart - September 1, 2013
Posted: September 6, 2013 | Last Revised: September 6, 2013
I had the priviledge of meeting and knowing Donald Rosselle for the last few months of his life. I was one of his nurses, and visited him in his home every week. He was one of the most courageous men I have ever met. No matter how he struggled, he never lost his self command. He gave me a nickname, and required of me the same upbeat humor that he himself displayed, joking with me until the very last. He looked death squarely in the face, and did not flinch. Above all he demonstrated his great love for his family in everything he did. His only request of me was that I try to help them in any way I could. I think he stayed with them as long as he could, solely in an attempt to give them comfort.
I was deeply moved, and instructed, by Donald. I will never, never, forget him, his courage, his acceptance of life, his love for his own, and his mighty heart.
